Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT)
What is SLAT
SLAT is a common entrance exam for admission in 4 Symbiosis law schools (SLS), which are SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Nagpur. The courses in which admission is offered are BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BA LLB and BBA LLB. Symbiosis International (Deemed University) conducts SLAT annually. However, OCI/ PIO/ Foreign Nationals are exempted from appearing for SLAT and have to apply through Symbiosis Center for International Education (www.scie.ac.in).
A student is eligible to apply as a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared for either 10th or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th or 12th) examination outside India. It is mandatory for NRI students who have appeared for their 10th standard exam outside India and 12th in India to appear for SLAT as applicable.

Exam Details
- The SLAT application process 2024 process will tentatively be start for all SLSs in December 2023.
- To fill out the application form for SLAT 2024, candidates will have to visit the official website of the Symbiosis Entrance Test, set-test.org, register for the exam and generate their SLAT ID and password for 2024.
- Using the application form and password, candidates will have to fill out the SLAT application form 2024.
- The exam shall be held in computer-based test mode. The duration of the test is 60 minutes and there are 60 MCQs of 60 marks in the test. Based on the scores of SLAT, candidates are shortlisted by the SLS.
- The selected candidates have to then appear for a Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT).
- Based on the scores of SLAT, PI and WAT a merit list is drawn for admission in respective Symbiosis law schools.
Syllabus
The exam authority does not publish detailed syllabus of SLAT 2024, but the broad topics on which the questions are framed.

Documents Required for Registration
Photograph
– The file should be in a JPG, GIF or BMP format.
– The file should be a scanned copy of their recent photograph (not more than 3 months old), colour photo, with a light background and the candidates’ face should cover at least 75% of the photo.
Admission Process
The admission process of SLAT 2024 includes the following stages:
- Apply for SLAT: The application process is online, and the candidates apply online at set-test.org before the last date.
- Appear for SLAT: The registered candidates have to appear for the SLAT exam after they obtain the admit card as issued to them.
- Check SLAT result: SLAT result and scorecard are announced on the official website, candidates can login and check their qualifying status.
- Appear for PI and WAT: Based on the SLAT score, candidates are shortlisted for WAT-PI rounds. Please check the respective Institute website for information and dates of WAT-PI.
SLAT Personal Interview and WAT Rounds
- Candidates who get shortlisted based on SLAT scores are then called for PI and WAT. Candidates have to check the respective institute website for information and dates of PI-WAT/ST-PI.
- Category-wise cut off for Merit List and Wait List will be displayed on the website of the respective institutes based on total scores of SLAT, PI and WAT. The waitlist movement will depend upon the vacant seats available.

– Recent famous law cases
– Basics of IPR, Contract Laws, Law of Torts, Cyberlaw
– Indian Constitution and its basics like Fundamental Rights, DPSP, Fundamental Duties, Parliament, Judiciary – Supreme Court, High Court, Subordinate Courts.
– Important government schemes and policies
SLAT Counselling
After the declaration of results, the qualified candidates have to participate in the counselling process. The steps to participate in SLAT counselling are as follows:
- Counselling registration and fee – Candidates have to visit the official websites of SLS colleges and check the counselling schedule and process. They have to register in online mode from the official website only. Candidates registering successfully are issued call letters to appear for PI-WAT rounds.
- Appearing for PI-WAT – Candidates have to appear for PI -WAT rounds where a panel of judge’s tests candidates based on general awareness, legal knowledge, and other relevant topics.
- Merit list and selection rounds – On the basis of SLAT scores, PI scores and WAT scores, each institute prepares its own merit list, and the shortlisted candidates have to secure a seat by paying the admission fee and completing other formalities.
- Confirming seats – Once the merit lists are released and candidates find their names on these lists, they will have to visit the office of the SLS for which they were selected for admission. Then, they will have to verify the required documents and submit the admission fee to confirm their seat for the course they prefer.

The entrance test registration fee for SLAT is INR 1950/- per test. (Non- refundable and non-transferable). In addition to that, candidates are also expected to pay the programme registration fee of INR 1000/- for each programme that Candidate wishes to apply for. (Non-refundable and non-transferable)

SLAT 2023
- SLAT 2023 was conducted on two different dates. Candidates can appear for the dates, i.e., May 06, 2023 (Saturday) and May 14, 2023 (Sunday).
- Candidates were allowed to appear for SLAT on both the dates (May 06 and May 14, 2023).
- If a candidate appears for more than one test, a higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation. There will be no normalization.
- A rigorous process that has been statistically tested was administered to ensure that unique types of questions are framed under a specific topic across the question papers.
- The normal spread ensures that there is no unfair advantage to candidates who opt for any specific test / multiple tests. This ensured the normalization of the spread of questions across sections. The question papers were also normalized for the level of difficulty across all two tests

- Exam Registration Process
- Register online on the website set-test.org(Registration closes on April 16, 2023).
Note: No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances.
- A candidate can appear for SET/SLAT/SITEEE on both the dates (May 06 and May 14, 2023). If a candidate appears for more than one test, a higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation.
- Upload your latest scanned colour passport size photo at the time of Online Registration. (Your photograph should not be more than 3 months old).
- Ensure that the information you have filled in is accurate. No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances. Candidates are fully and solely responsible for providing correct information during the application process. If it is found that any information provided by the candidate at the time of filling / submitting the application form is not true, SIU has the right to cancel the application or admission, at any stage, in accordance with its rules and regulations. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the management and employees of the Institute will lead to automatic disqualification of the candidate.
- All communication with candidates will be done through the official email address (info@set-test.org) only. Please ensure that this email address is whitelisted in your registered email.
- Candidates should note that SET/SLAT/SITEEE 2023 is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its subsequent independent selection process.
2. Payment of Fee

Payment Through Demand Draft:
- Submit a Demand Draft (DD) from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.
- Choose the mode of Payment as ‘DD Payment’ in “Make Payment” Tab. Take a print of the payment advice form, fill in the DD Details, sign and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only at:

- The Symbiosis Test Secretariat will authenticate the details of Demand Draft and will send you an email confirming the payment. Only after the realization of payment, will you be able to view your Admit Card.
- Note: The DD should reach STS by 5:00 pm on April 16, 2023 (Sunday). If the DD reaches after this, it will not be considered and will be returned to the candidate.
IMPORTANT: SLAT 2023 fee is non-refundable and nontransferable.
- A candidate desirous to submit his candidature to select UG programmes, is also required to complete the payment process of desired programme before the closing date of payment of the same. Payment for the programmes must be made through the website only (set-test.org).
- After making the payment for SET/SLAT/SITEEE, proceed to complete the online registration form (Part II) for Programme (s) registration and the respective institute(s). A candidate is required to make a separate non-refundable and non-transferable payment of 1000/- per programme per institute at this stage.
- If candidates want to make a programme payment through Demand Draft, make Demand Draft of INR 1000/- for each programme in the name of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat”.
- Note:
- Please note that Symbiosis Test Secretariat will not be responsible for non-delivery or any delay on the part of courier / postal services.
- It is also mandatory to complete the payment process of desired institute for desired programme(s) before the closing date of payment of the respective programme. Payment towards the programme(s) also needs to be done through the website set-test.org
- For disputes between the candidate and the Symbiosis Test Secretariat, the candidate should first send an Email to registrar@siu.edu.inwith details about his/her grievance. If the candidate is not satisfied with the decision of the Registrar, he/she can appeal to the Ombudsman of the University. Information regarding the same is available in https://siu.edu.in/student-affairs.php. All disputes between the candidate and STS in this regard are subject to the legal jurisdiction of Pune.
- SLAT 2023 score will be valid only for admission to select programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for the academic year 2023-24.
- Admissions to the selected programmes at SIU are strictly based on merit, assessment of individual performance in the respective Entrance Test for Undergraduate Studies and other processes prescribed by the University.
- Even after closing of the payment for SLAT, a candidate may still pay through website till the last date of payment for the programmes. An institute may offer more than one programme. A candidate should ensure that the preferred programme(s) is / are selected and paid for before the last date.
- Indian nationals and NRI candidates shall have to apply under SET/SLAT/SITEEE 2023 to seek admission to the select Undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

- After the declaration of the SLAT result, the institute (offering the programme(s) for which you have paid) will conduct further selection processes for short-listed candidates. The schedule for the same will be published on the website of the respective institute(s).
- Any attempt to impersonate or indulge in any malpractice, identified at any stage of the admission process would disqualify the candidate from the admission processes to all UG programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and may also lead to appropriate legal action as deemed fit.
